Patsy's first introduction to transformational processes occurred in the self-help rooms that were popular in the 70’s in Boston, Massachusetts.  As a leader of consciousness raising and a facilitator of discussion groups, Patsy became very adept at creating spaces for open, honest dialogue about sensitive issues important to many women of diverse ages, classes and cultural backgrounds. This gift for creating safe environments for vulnerability was also counterbalanced with wit and humor to lighten up some of the most difficult conversations.

During her college years, Patsy rose to prominence among her peers and the university administration when her leadership skills emerged to address student violence on campus.  Her work to bring peaceful solutions to student body tensions was covered by local, regional and national television stations who interviewed her and recorded features and spotlights on her accomplishments.

After graduating in 1988 from the University of Massachusetts, Patsy set her sights on the University of California’s Master of Public Policy program with a plan to be settled on the West Coast by September 1990. A divine appointment re-routed her cross-country move 1100 miles south instead of 3,000 miles west. By February 1990, Patsy was settled in Atlanta, GA where her home would be for the next 28 years. One member of her interview team turned out to be the co-worker who would lead her to the Lord. This new relationship with Jesus shifted her trajectory and expanded her social change vision to include spiritual transformation.

She helped found a weekly women’s fellowship while also directing programs for a women’s interfaith nonprofit organization that provided healing services to adult women survivors of sexual abuse and incest. This exposure to some of the worst forms of violation and its lasting, detrimental impacts, further deepened her desire to bring healing and transformation to God’s sacred daughters.

She served five years at a local women’s foundation, making grants totaling more than $2 million to women-serving organizations as well as creating a technical assistance project to strengthen small and mid-sized nonprofits. As a funder, she was uniquely positioned to support and coach women executive directors, holding leadership forums and gatherings focused on gender-specific challenges. Patsy later joined a national ministry to help establish effective domestic violence response in faith communities as well as helping coordinate a women’s alliance to support the professional development and career opportunities for ordained clergywomen. 

For almost 15 years, Patsy taught community classes on active listening skills; helped launch support groups on various areas of concern; led weekend workshops on a number of transformational topics and mentored emerging leadership of all ages. Patsy has served as a coach to her peers, supervisors and women-led, community-based efforts that helped people transform their lives, relationships and areas of influence.

In her new home in Woodland Park, Colorado, Patsy has completed Bible College, receiving her licensure to preach the Gospel.  Patsy also serves as the Coordinator for the Prayer Ministry at Freedom Church in Woodland Park.
